What’s behind the wave of protests in the Philippines?

Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos have taken to the streets in recent months to protest corruption in the government of Marcos Jr., involving billions of dollars in public works projects, many of which are unfinished or nonexistent, and mismanagement that has exacerbated historic floods in the country. In addition to the internal crisis, the growing US military presence is increasing political tension and fueling popular discontent. Reporter Bruno Falci brings more information directly from China.
