CGTN Dialogue Show – October 28, 2025

The discussion centers on the recently concluded ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, specifically the upgraded CAFTA 3.0 and the RCEP Leaders’ Summit, Kuala Lumpur Accord, and the accession of Timor-Leste as the 11th member of ASEAN.

At the recent ASEAN Summit in Malaysia, China and ASEAN took a major leap forward — signing the Upgraded China–ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA 3.0). The new pact ushers in a fresh era of cooperation in the digital economy, green trade, and supply chain resilience — signaling Asia’s deepening integration amid global trade turbulence.

In this episode of CGTN Dialogue, hosted by Xu Qinduo, I joined Prof. Rong Ying and Peter Chang to unpack the following:
🔹 The most significant outcomes of this year’s ASEAN Summit
🔹 How FTA 3.0 transforms China–ASEAN economic relations
🔹 Why East Asia’s openness and cooperation remain key to regional prosperity
This milestone signals Asia’s confidence in regionalism, resilience, and shared prosperity.
💡 Insightful, forward-looking, and timely — a must-watch for anyone following Asia’s economic future.
