Why The Philippines Matter (Anna Malindog-Uy) – TIO Talks 16

Hello folks😊, sharing my conversation with Prof. Warwick Powell entitled “Why the Philippines Matters?” This is brought to you by TIO Talks of the Taihe Institute featuring me (Anna Malindog-Uy) and Prof. Powell.

This is a fascinating and engaging conversation. It involved an in-depth discussion about the challenges of post-colonial Filipino identities and how their pre-European (colonial) experiences serve as guides to future possibilities. We also explored the historical context of the Spanish and American colonization in relation to the contemporary Philippines, the Filipino identity, and the concept of sovereignty.

Indeed, in this episode of TIO Talks, “We speak from both the head and the heart.”
