Anna Malindog-Uy LIVE on RT – April 27, 2025

I’m sharing my interview with Russia Today (RT), which aired late last night (27 April 2025, around 23:00), where I was asked to weigh in on two pressing geopolitical developments: first, the reported seizure of the disputed Sandy Cay Reef by China, located alarmingly close to a key Philippine military outpost; and second, the intensifying military and defense cooperation between the Philippines and the United States under the Marcos Jr. administration, particularly within the framework of the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT).

Both issues speak volumes about the shifting balance of power in the South China Sea and the Philippines’ increasingly precarious position as it navigates the competing influences of major powers in the region.
