CHINA WARNS PHILIPPINES: The US Grooms New Pawn for War on China

Hello folks😊! I’m thrilled to share a compelling and thought-provoking conversation I had with my dear friend, Lena Petrova, on April 6, 2025, featured on her YouTube channel, ā€œWorld Affairs in Context.ā€ Our dialogue revolved around a timely and pressing theme, – ā€œU.S. Military Plans in the Philippines: The Rising Threat of a Proxy War with China?ā€ In our exchange, we delved into several critical issues shaping the regional security landscape: 1. The recent International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte explored its domestic and international political and legal implications. 2. The ongoing militarization of the Philippines by the United States is highlighted by the U.S. State Department’s recent approval of a $5.58-billion arms deal. This includes the possible acquisition of 20 state-of-the-art F-16 fighter jets and a comprehensive package of advanced weaponry and support systems. 3. The evolving negotiations surrounding the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, a crucial diplomatic framework and a crisis management tool currently being discussed and negotiated among ASEAN member states and China, have far-reaching consequences for the region’s peace and stability.
